Take a deep breath and go diving in the "Kaarster See" (lake). You wont find a sunken ship but just might see a catfish swims by. It's fun and very clean.
If you can't hold your breath that long Neuss offers several professional diving schools with fully-qualified instructors and the latest equipment. It is also possible to hire diving gear if you want to explore the "Kaarster See" or when you go on vacation. One thing of note: You don't want to go diving in the Rhine River.
