Oddly, horse riding in Germany is regarded as a sport for girls. However, side saddles and showy dresses have not been seen for a long time on horsebacks. None the less, there are more girls than boys in the riding stables and most riding schools.
Equestrian sport cannot be compared with pleasure riding. In the professional sport both sportsmen and horses have to be in excellent shape to perform complicated dressage or jumps. The equestrian sport has been part of the Olympic Games since 1912.
You don't have to be preparing for the Olympic Games in order to go horse riding in Neuss. There are more riding clubs and stables in the region than amateur soccer clubs and no reason to not take the opportunity to get out and do some riding whether you're a beginner or a more advanced rider. Where ever you live.
