When planning your trip to Germany, you should at first make sure that you dispose of all the documents required to guarantee a trouble-free entry.

Since January 2005, citizens of EU-countries benefit from free movement and right of residence, meaning that they do not need a visa if they want to enter Germany. Citizens of the EEA as well as Swiss nationals do not need a visa as well. Citizens of Countries marked with a “no” in the list given in the link below do not require a visa if their stays in Germany are shorter than 90 days. Non EU-citizens planning to stay longer than 90 days are obliged to apply for a visa.
